Great Vocal Advice and Wisdom from “This is Us” Star, Chrissy Metz

During a Facebook live interview, I recently had the opportunity to sit down with my very talented student, and now Star of NBC’s “This Is Us,” Chrissy Metz, who plays Kate. I have condensed this video to only six minutes and featured some of the great nuggets of wisdom Chrissy shared for singers regarding vulnerability and how’s she’s been able to apply the CORE breathing techniques I’ve taught her over the past seven years, to her real life. You will see her win praise from Whoopi Goldberg, Ellen, and other recent television interviews, contrasted with her prior training at Dot’s Voice Studios.  You’ll also get to hear her sing on the show! To top it off, find out what award Chrissy, along with Mandy Moore was recently nominated for!

“It’s great if you’re hitting all the perfect notes, but if you can’t make anybody feel something because you’re not feeling it, what’s the point?”
– Chrissy Metz, Actress

If you know me, I’m not a TV fan at all and don’t even have cable. However, if you haven’t been watching This is Us,  I would highly recommend it. Not only because my student is the star of it, or because it’s currently the most popular show on television, but because it shows real people in real life in situations you have never seen before on television. It’s is uplifting, educational, inspiring and quite moving on many levels. I have to admit, I didn’t expect to fall in love with the show. I believe there is something in it for everyone who watches it and I can’t wait for it to start again in January 2017!

This video is a tribute to Chrissy, but also to all of you who love to sing. It will hopefully inspire you to believe in yourself and do the inner C.O.R.E. work so you can be ready to receive all the Universe has to offer you!  I will be sharing more of her amazing journey and advice in weeks to come!  Please like and share!
